For [info]junk_game_junky, a graph

Value of 1M hands of Chinese Poker (with 2-7 in the middle):

I find it somewhat interesting that while there are a few hands worth between +3 and +4 points (1858 of them in this sample) there are none worth less than -3 points. Losingest hands:

2c5d6d7cAh 2h5h6s7dTc TdJcQs -2.96443 2530
3c4c4d9c9h 2c2s3dJhKh TdTsAs -2.92418 2519
3c5d5h7c7h 3s6cJsQhAc 6sTdTs -2.92401 2553
2d4h5d7cAd 2h4s5h7dTh TsJcQc -2.92335 2570
2d4d6c7hKc 2h4s6h7sTc ThJcQs -2.91994 2523
3h4d5d6cKd 3s4h5s6sTc ThJhQs -2.91983 2557

The median value is about -0.07 points. (Mean is +0.007 points in this sample.)

Bah! 37 hits over lunch from "latest images on LJ" toys, about 5 from people actually reading my journal entry.

700 hands with their 2nd and 3rd best options graphed.

Not much to see here. It looks like the 2nd and 3rd choices are more tightly clustered for worse hands, but that may just be a result of having less "space".

Also, these are only alternatives which are not dominated. It's possible that there is a choice "between" 1 and 2, or between 2 and 3, which is dominated and so would not appear.
