iPhone Roulette

At least when Microsoft decides to screw independent developers, they have the decency to launch a competing product. When Apple decides to pull the plug on 5,000 iPhone apps... well, you're just out of luck, unless you happen to be Sports Illustrated or Playboy.

How long until poker apps are eliminated too? Violent games? Website blacklisting? Will the YouTube app be pulled? If you're an iPhone developer writing a business plan, how much risk should you assume there is that Apple will eliminate your business for arbitrary and ill-explained reasons?

One of the affected developers points out Apple's hypocrisy on this issue: Apple can use a bikini top to advertise the iPod, but your app had better not include any.
