pwn1ng the DC tables

A good session playing the $1/$2 and $2/$4 Dealer's Choice tables tonight; I am up more than $100 between the two. I haven't had a losing session since coming back from vacation.

On the other hand, I never really went anywhere in the $5+$0.50 tournament, finishing about 18th after being short-stacked for a long time. My high point was these two consecutive hands, which were extremely puzzling to me...

Why hang so long with Q7? Because it was cheap?

Yeah, on the flop I had a gutshot + backdoor flush draw and was getting 7:1. On the turn with a gutshot + overcard I was getting 10:1. I would have folded to serious action on either round.

don't see what's so strange about the first hand...your basic BB special and he probably had ten high (Tx, where x sucked)...possibly with a heart draw.

Love the flop call on the second hand, I might have tried to take the lead on the river, but checking isn't bad.

I just thought that calling a pot-sized bet and folding to a half-pot was a little strange; Txs seems like the most likely possibility, but I don't think he had good odds given how short my remaining stack was. It could be that he put me on a flush draw but decided that my river bet showed otherwise.
