Love Aslan? Sometimes I hate him.

Aslan broke the rules.

In Prince Caspian and Voyage of the Dawn Treader, when Lucy does something wrong, she is told "nobody is ever told what would have happened" (if she did the right thing instead.)

Yet in The Magician's Nephew, when Digory does the right thing, Aslan throws the subjunctive around like it's going out of style. "If any Narnian, unbidden, had stolen an apple..." " would have healed her, but not to your joy or hers..."

mrissa will no doubt use this as further ammunition against TMN, but I still like it best.
