My cab ride to the hotel was half of the stereotypical NY cabbie experience. He did not talk nonstop, but he did drive like a maniac. There was only one near-collision and I think at most two red lights we went through. (Also he invented an extra left-hand turn lane at least once.) The expressway was jam-packed (he said due to a Presidential visit) so we took Atlantic Avenue most of the way.
My brother Dan met me for dinner and had researched a couple nearby places. We went to Cendrillon, a Phillipine/Pan-Asian restaurant. The spring rolls were quite tasty. I had the chicken adobo, which was quite tasty--- sort of a sweet and sour sauce. Dan had chicken inasal, which was more of a barbeque.
Dan took me up to Times Square to wander around for a little bit. Then I came back to the hotel room and he headed for his train back to Poughkeepsie.
P.S. My hotel room is quite small. I can't really push the chair back from the desk without hitting the bed. The shower appears tall enough, however.
