Marriage spam

Periodically some spam shows up in my work mailbox advertising arranged marriages. Usually this comes as the request to join some Yahoo group.

_______agarwal0003@yahoo.com has invited you to join the _______agarwal0003 group!

I don't know what would be worse, that this is a scam somebody would fall for, or that they've actually successfully arranged marriages. If I were single, would they even take my business? (My ancestors were Dutch, not Indian, FWIW.)

(Also I'm not sure whether Agarwal is the name of the person doing this or a reference to the Agarwal community. But it shows up often.)
