Invariants

I had occasion to use dd_b's laptop while we were both in California last week. This gave me some amount of problem because he puts his mouse on the left, while I normally put mine on the right. While I sometimes use a mouse left-handed, I don't reverse the buttons. That is, I preserve the invariant "primary button" == "left button" and switch to using my middle finger to click it when the mouse happens to be in my left hand. But DDB preserves the invariant "primary button" == "index finger" and so swaps the left and right buttons on the mouse.

Which invariant do you preserve?

Heck, how do you use the mouse in general? Stupid LJ poll time!
