Unintentional cool effect

So I'm sitting here watching a lot of output from [secret project] scroll by and I notice that the last line in the xterm appears to be filling up one character at a time, relatively slowly, while the rest of the output flashes by.

A few moments' thought reveals why: the output is mainly lines of uniform length, but I'm piping the output through 'tee'. That means that it is being written to the screen in block-sized chunks, and by coincidence (block size) mod (line size) = 1.
