Worst Mixed Game Ever

Last night I dreamed I went to a cardroom (which I didn't recognize) to go play poker. There was a 10/20 mixed game running, so I sat in. Unfortunately it was a round of Hold'em, a round of Omaha, and three rounds of sports betting.

In related news, the Minnesota DPS requested major ISPs to start blocking access to gambling "websites". (via messenger of doom rcfox.) This would be a troubling precedent if anybody went along with it--- the police should not have the power to make requests like this independent of court review, nor am I convinced that state law permits such blocking as a remedy even in that case.

ETA: The police appear to be making use of a provision of Federal law, Title 18 Section 1084(d), which supports takedown notices to common carriers from any local law enforcement (that's right, including the city cops). What awful public policy. Law enforcement should not be making speech decisions unilaterally.
