I've been out in CA a lot; it is crunch time at work. I did manage to attend a get-together of SF poker people, including organizer whipartist, prock, ts4z, and the visiting gunga_galunga. Unfortunately I've not been feeling well enough (nor leaving work in time) to go play some actual poker.
And I'm heading right out to CA again on Thursday, but to Los Angeles instead for a family wedding.
I flew United this trip even though I knew that to be a mistake. United did not exceed my expectations; we were stuck on the ground (all seated and ready to go) in SFO for an extra hour on my way home. There was some sort of maintenance problem which needed "just another ten minutes" five times. Fortunately I was not stranded in Denver due to a longer-than-usual layover.
Also, I am kind of pissed off that United made me sit through four showings of their CEO blathering about how the merger with Continental is the greatest thing ever. "Please give your attention to this safety demonstration--- but, first, a content-free message featuring the oversized ego of our Fearless Leader!" Did nobody have the guts to tell him that this did not improve the customer experience in any way, shape, or form?
