Tintri Launches!

Tintri emerges from stealth mode today. Our website is live and contains a lot of information about our first product, the Tintri VMstore--- a storage appliance that is VM-aware and specialized for virtual environments. There's a video of our founder, a UI demo, a lot of information about product features, customer quotes, and the technical white paper I wrote with Ed Lee (though you have to sign up to get the link).

Kicking things off is some great coverage in BusinessWeek: "Taking the Pain Out of Virtual Computing" by Ashlee Vance.

Network Computing weighs in with "Tintri Tackles VM Storage Challenges" by Steve Wexler, including some analyst quotes from Terri McClure.

From the Channel Register: "Tintri flashes unique VMware storage credentials" by Chris Mellor is the first article to mention me too. ;)

Kieran and I have been working on this since May 2008 (and Kieran longer than that!), so it's very exciting to see our first product go public and be able to talk more publicly about our technology and vision. I think the team we have at Tintri is very capable--- there's a lot of depth and a variety of different perspectives. A lot of potential customers really "get" our story, so I think if we can continue to execute well the market will be very receptive.
